One rainy afternoon a man was driving home after having dinner in town, weaving his way through the curving back roads. On his way back, the storm turned from a little drizzle into thunderstorm, one of the worst that the town of Attica had ever seen. Taking it slowly the man was driving steadily when a tree struck his car, completely destroying the front of his car and almost crushing him under the hood of his car.
He was barely to crawl out of his truck and then he collapsed. In pain and bleeding, and strangely, after yelling for help only a few times in that loud storm, he found himself in the arms of a young woman.. She asked his name as she laid him carefully on the earth. "I'm John, I.. live.. just down the road.." Coughing up some blood he added weakly "..can you help me..?" Looking at him carefully, she spoke with a calming voice, " John, you are about to leave this life, there is nothing I can do for you but I’m going to say a prayer for you, so don’t be afraid. Soon you will have no pain." She grabbed one of his hands with her own and her other she laid on his chest and quickly whispered the following with the rain pouring down on them, "Another joins the numbers lost from this world, may those that care about him rest knowing he is at peace, and may the Lord grant this man’s soul peace as it is put in my care..."
After saying those words, her hand sank into his chest while emitting an extremely bright light. After a few seconds her hand emerged with a glowing object, then the man closed his eyes and passed away. And from the look on the man’s face, you could see he was at peace. Although his body was mangled and deformed, his face looked to be at rest, and calm. The woman stood up with the bright object in her hands, she said the final words toward the body before walking away, "Rest.. In.. Peace.."
Turning away and walking back into her house she looks down at the glowing object in her palm and whispers, "No need to be afraid, You are safe from him now."
